NAVI breeze past Outsiders to qualify for IEM Rio Major; ECSTATIC eliminated-csgo cases com

The CIS squad is the third team to make it to the Rio Major from Europe, after Ninjas in Pyjamas and FaZe booked their place earlier in the day.

Natus Vincere defeated Outsiders in a two-map series, winning Mirage (16-13) and Inferno (16-4), with Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev having one of his superstar performances with a 1.61 rating. Natus Vincere book their place at the IEM Rio Major's Legends Stage with the victory, traversing the Swiss system with a flawless 3-0 record.

Just before the CIS derby, FORZE made light work of ECSTATIC by beating them 2-0 on Overpass (16-7) and Dust2 (16-7) to eliminate them from the RMR, with the Danes losing all four maps they played at the event.

NAVI lost just four rounds on Inferno to book their spot at the Rio Major

Natus Vincere struck first on their map pick of Mirage, converting their pistol round to run away to an early 7-3 lead. With Outsiders seemingly out of the game, they slowly ground back the rounds by keeping their economy stable with several saves, as Evgenii "⁠FL1T⁠" Lebedev's 1vs1 clutch gave them a one-round lead at the interval.

The teams remained close through the second half as well, with Natus Vincere starting with an impressive retake to once again get themselves ahead. Outsiders winning a 3vs5 on the B site with just pistols looked to have given them the advantage but it wasn't to be, as they won just one more round on their T side. Natus Vincere ended the map with a successful B stack, with s1mple getting up to 30 kills in the final moments.

On Inferno, Natus Vincere put up a wall on their CT side, losing just two rounds on their defense. s1mple started the half with a quad-kill in the pistol round and had a dominant display from then on. The 25-year-old ended the half with a 21-10 K-D, disrupting the Outsiders default with several aggressive pushes, even backstabbing on Banana when a B hit was just about to come in. Natus Vincere’s second pistol round win was the final nail in the coffin for Outsiders, as s1mple and company went on to close out the game with a one-sided 16-4 scoreline.
